Responsibilities
We are looking for an individual with relevant HR experience to provide support in the management, coordination and execution of HR functions.

Reporting to the Human Resources Officer, the main duties and responsibilities of the Human Resources Associate shall include the following
  • Implementation of HR policies and procedures, including providing technical advice, when needed.
  • Conducting full range of services related to selection and recruitment of UNU staff members, contractors, and temporary staff.
  • Conducting orientation and briefing for new staff members.
  • Managing contracts, performance evaluation, and payment to contractors.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the HR budget and work plan, and coordinating with organisational units on staffing requirements.
  • Conducting research and implementation of HR projects, including preparation of reports.
  • Assisting in identification of staff training, career development, and support needs, including preparation and coordination of training programmes.
  • Training and providing supervision to junior-level staff in the unit.
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned or required.
Required qualifications and experience
  • University degree in Human Resources or a relevant field with 5 years of relevant working experience in human resources management, administrative services, or related area; or, alternatively, completion of a post-secondary education certificate with at least 7 years of relevant working experience.
  • Background with international work experience is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in administration and interpretation of HR policies.
  • Experience in compiling and reporting HR-related statistics will be advantageous.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications and high proficiency in data analysis and report management using MS Excel is advantageous. Experience with handling ERP systems would be an asset.
  • Excellent communications and drafting skills, with fluency in both oral and written English. Knowledge of other official UN languages would be an asset.
  • Ability to establish priorities, multitask, and work within tight timelines.
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
