Salary information: US$73,338 net per annum for staff with primary dependents and US$68,294 at single rate plus post adjustment (currently US$56,837 at the dependant rate and US$52,928 at the single rate). Purpose of the post
Under the immediate supervision of the Head, French Translation Section, the successful candidate will work on a variety of translation, revision and research duties in their field of competence. Additionally the incumbent will be expected to cooperate in a series of administrative tasks as required by the Head of Section. For a detailed job description, please refer to page 2
Required competencies
Professional Experience
Minimum of seven years of professional experience in translation, of which preferably two years are self-revised. Experience within the framework of an international organization is desirable.
Education
University degree in translation, languages or a relevant technical field.
Language skills
Must have a perfect command of French which should be the mother tongue or principal language of education and an excellent command of English and Spanish.
Other skills
Good working knowledge of standard MS Office applications and ability to work with Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools. Knowledge of maritime terminology will be an advantage.
